MOST WSM PISTONS HAVE A BLACK MOLY COATING TO REDUCE FRICTION & HEAT BUILD-UP DURING BREAK-IN.

NOTE: ON V-6 MOTORS TWO TYPES OF CONNECTING ROD / PISTON COMBINATIONS ARE USED - TOP AND BOTTOM GUIDED.
THIS REFERS TO THE METHOD OF ALIGNING THE RODS TO THE CRANKPIN AND CYLINDER CENTERLINE.
YOU CAN IDENTIFY WHICH TYPE YOU HAVE BY THE FORGING NUMBER ON THE ROD AS FOLLOWS:

V-6 175 HP 2.4L 1978-1991 200 HP 2.4L 1978-1990 These are Chrome Block motors; standard bore pistons only as DIRECT replacements. For Oversizes, must be sleeved to standard. These will then use different rings and bore is 3.377". After sleeving they can be bored to oversizes (.015 or .030) if desired. Please specify number of re-bored & sleeved holes, if any, in the Comments box at checkout. XR4 model is bored to 3.375" std and already uses steel sleeves. No re-sleeving is necessary.
