MODEL NUMBERS are VERY important in identifying your Force Outboard.
Force (and Chrysler, which became Force in 1984-85) tended to make as many as 15 variations of a given motor in any particular year, many with not-quite-the-same parts from one to another. Beginning in mid-1992, Mercury Marine (who had acquired Force Outboards) began using Mercury-style serial numbers rather than Model numbers. These numbers start with an "E" followed by 6 numbers, e.g. "E123456".
PLEASE record your model number and serial number and refer to it when ordering Chrysler/Force parts so we can be sure of sending you the right parts!
